Tooth extraction
Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure performed to remove a decayed, damaged, or problematic tooth. It may be necessary for reasons such as severe tooth decay, infection, or overcrowding. The procedure is done under local anesthesia to minimize discomfort. Post-extraction care includes avoiding certain foods and maintaining oral hygiene to ensure proper healing. Tooth extraction can be followed by tooth replacement options like implants or dentures.
Root Canal Treatment (RCT)
Root Canal Treatment is essential when the soft tissue inside the tooth (the pulp) becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay or injury. During the procedure, the dentist removes the infected pulp, cleans the root canals, and fills them to prevent further infection. RCT is a highly effective way to save a tooth that would otherwise need extraction. It relieves pain and restores functionality. A crown is often placed on the tooth afterward for protection and longevity.
Dentures placement
Dentures are removable prosthetics used to replace missing teeth and restore the appearance and functionality of your smile. They can be complete (replacing all teeth) or partial (replacing a few missing teeth). Dentures not only improve aesthetics but also help in chewing and speaking. Modern dentures are more comfortable and natural-looking than ever. Proper care of dentures includes regular cleaning and occasional adjustments by the dentist.
Teeth straightening
Teeth straightening through orthodontic treatment is used to correct misaligned or crooked teeth. Braces, aligners, and retainers are the most common tools used to achieve a straight smile. Orthodontic treatment not only enhances the appearance of your teeth but also improves bite function and oral health. It can prevent issues like tooth wear, jaw pain, and gum disease. Treatment duration varies, but the results last a lifetime when followed by proper maintenance.
Treatment of pyorrhea and bad breath
Pyorrhea, or periodontitis, is a severe gum infection that can damage the soft tissue and destroy the bone supporting your teeth. Treatment includes deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), medications, and improved oral hygiene practices. Bad breath, often caused by gum disease, bacteria, or poor oral hygiene, is also treated alongside pyorrhea. Regular dental visits and proper care can prevent these issues from worsening. Timely treatment ensures healthy gums and fresh breath.
Teeth bleaching
Teeth bleaching is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to lighten and remove stains or discoloration on teeth. The process involves applying a bleaching solution, typically containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Teeth whitening can significantly enhance your smile’s appearance, boosting confidence. It’s a safe procedure when done under professional supervision. Regular maintenance and avoiding staining foods and drinks can prolong the results.
Dental fillings
Dental fillings are used to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal shape and function. The dentist removes the decayed portion of the tooth and fills it with materials like composite resin, amalgam, or porcelain. Fillings prevent further decay by sealing off areas where bacteria can enter. They help restore the tooth’s strength and functionality. Proper oral hygiene can extend the life of dental fillings and protect your teeth from future decay.
Teeth cleaning (scaling)
Teeth cleaning, or scaling, is a preventive dental procedure that removes plaque, tartar, and stains from the tooth surface. It helps in maintaining oral health by preventing gum disease, cavities, and bad breath. Scaling is typically done during routine dental check-ups and ensures your gums and teeth remain healthy. The dentist uses specialized tools to clean both above and below the gum line. Regular cleanings, combined with proper oral hygiene, keep your smile bright and healthy.
Crowning (fitting caps on teeth)
A dental crown is a custom-made cap placed over a tooth to restore its shape, strength, and appearance. It’s commonly used after root canal treatment, for broken or severely decayed teeth, or to cover a dental implant. Crowns are made from various materials, including porcelain, metal, and resin. They offer long-term protection and durability. Crowns blend in with your natural teeth, providing both functional and aesthetic benefits.
Artificial teeth placement
Artificial teeth, or prosthetic teeth, are used to replace missing teeth and can be in the form of bridges, partials, or full dentures. These prosthetics restore chewing function, speech, and the appearance of your smile. Modern artificial teeth are made from durable materials that mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. The placement of artificial teeth can prevent further dental problems, such as shifting teeth or jawbone loss. Proper care is required to maintain their longevity.
Dental implant
Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth. They involve surgically placing a titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as a root for the artificial tooth (crown)
. Dental implants are known for their durability and natural look, offering a long-lasting solution to tooth loss. They also help maintain bone structure and prevent shifting of adjacent teeth. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
Tooth sensitivity to cold or hot
Tooth sensitivity occurs when the protective enamel wears down or the gums recede, exposing the dentin beneath. This can cause discomfort or pain when consuming hot or cold food and drinks. Treatment options include desensitizing toothpaste, fluoride treatments, or sealing exposed areas. Tooth sensitivity may also signal an underlying issue such as tooth decay or gum disease, requiring professional treatment. Maintaining proper oral hygiene and avoiding acidic foods can help reduce sensitivity.
